Norman Guy Stansbery, age 62, of Kenton, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 8:15 am at his home

Norman was born on January 30, 1949 in Kenton, Ohio to Guy W. and Lucille (Pryor) Stansbery both of whom are deceased. He married Cheryl Tannyhill-Teets on February 27, 1987 in Findlay, Ohio and she survives in Kenton.

Also surviving Norman is a son Adam (Havilah) Stansbery of Columbus, Ohio, a daughter Crystal Routt of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, four step-daughters Kristie Miller of Green Camp, Ohio, Wendy Crabtree of LaRue, Ohio, Michelle Armbruster of Marion, Ohio and Andrea Teets of Kenton, Ohio, nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Five brothers, Sam (Doris) Stansbery of Lima, Ohio, Roger (Gloria) Stansbery of Crosby, Texas, Tim (Pat) Stansbery of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Paul (Barb) Stansbery of Marseilles, Ohio and Gary (Laura) Stansbery of Portage, Ohio, and five sisters, Peggy, (Melvin) Raymond of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Rose Feltis of Cape Coral, Florida, Alice McCarthy of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Diane (Gary) Gregory of Pickens, South Carolina, and Paulette (Richard) Mowery of Fostoria, Ohio also survive.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Phil Stansbery and a sister Vickie Stansbery.

Norman graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1967 and he went on to serve in the US Army during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart.

Norman was retired from Daimeler Chrysler Corporation for 27 years in Perrysburg, Ohio.

Norman was a lifetime member of the Coon Hunters in Hepburn, Ohio and the Kenton Lions Club.

For hobbies Norman enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening from seeds, and he was an avid OSU and Detroit Tigers fan.

Funeral services for Norman Guy Stansbery will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio with Gary Gregory officiating the services. Burial will follow at the Stansbery Cemetery in rural Upper Sandusky where military graveside rites will be Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard.

Visitations will be held on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 12pm - 2pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hardin County Hospice in care of the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
