Neva J. Orians

March 26, 1925 — May 6, 2016

Neva J. Orians, age 91, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away on Friday, May 6th at the Fairhaven Nursing Home in Upper Sandusky.

Neva was born on March 26, 1925 in Bucyrus, Ohio to Raymond and Nellie (Gilliland) Ekleberry, both of whom are deceased.   She married Basil Orians on February 6, 1945 and he passed away on November 15, 2004.

She is survived by two sons, Robert (Lynda) Orians of Scottsdale, Arizona, Ronald (Connie) Orians of Denver, Colorado and two daughters, Sandy (Dan) Niederkohr of Marysville, Ohio and Sharlene (Troy) Alter of Scottsdale, Arizona.  She also had four grandchildren Holly Niederkohr-Sonders of Orlando, Florida, Ryan (Karen) Niederkohr of San Jose, California, Justin (Diana) Alter of Scottsdale, Arizona and Kelly Orians of New Orleans, Louisiana. Also she had three great grandchildren Margaret and Clara Niederkohr and Jaxton Alter.

Neva is survived by a brother, Darwin "Bub" (Nancy) Ekleberry of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and a special friend Sarah Jane Ulrich of Upper Sandusky.

She was preceded in death by a grandson Sean Orians.

Neva was a homemaker and had worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and then upon moving back to the area she worked for First National Bank in Findlay and the Commercial Savings Bank in Upper Sandusky before retiring.

She was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Parish in Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies Neva enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, cooking and playing golf in her younger years.  Her greatest joy was to spend time with her family and friends.  She will be greatly missed.

A funeral mass for Neva Orians will be held at 11:00am Wednesday May 11, 2016 at the Salem­ St. Joseph Heritage Church in rural Upper Sandusky, with Rev. J.R. Hadnagy, O.F.M. Conv. Officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the

Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to St: Peter's Catholic School, Wyandot Memorial Hospital, or a charity of the donor's choice and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio. 43351.
