Mary Danette Patchett-Bollinger, known as Nettie throughout her life, born August 28, 1960, to Dan and Anna (Smith) Patchett, was a bright, comforting presence whose laughter and goofiness could lift the heaviest heart. She had a rare gift for bringing joy into the lives of everyone who knew her, and her warmth will be deeply missed.
Nettie grew up in a close-knit family in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, surrounded by the love of her parents and grandparents. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Anna Patchett, her paternal grandparents, Edward and Anna (Earp) Patchett, her maternal grandparents, Raymond and Mary (Nunley) Smith, and her grandson, Elijah Swartz.
She is survived by her sister, Cindy (Chuck) Dutton of Marion, her nephew, Trey (Lorie) Dutton of Marion, and her niece, Jenie (Chris) Mundy of Lincoln, Alabama. She is also survived by her great-niece, Morgan Dutton of Marion, and her great-nephews, Gaige and Hadyn Mundy of Lincoln, Alabama, along with many nieces and nephews.
Nettie shared her life with her loving husband, Tracy Bollinger, whose companionship, support, and devotion brought her comfort and joy throughout the years.
A devoted mother, Nettie raised her three children with unwavering love: Dani (Phil) Lininger of Sycamore, Dana (Bryan) Swartz of Upper Sandusky, and Bre (Brian) Slone of Marion.
Nettie cherished her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren, Parker Patchett, Jack Lininger, Maverick Lininger, Payten Lininger, Piper Lininger, Wyatt Swartz, Kiley Slone, and Brison Slone, were her pride and joy. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren, Arya Reams, Jasper Patchett and Elias Patchett, who brought new light into her life.
She loved simple, peaceful moments: watching her westerns, getting lost in a good book, watching cardinals outside her window, and sharing laughter with the people she loved most. Cardinals, her favorite, were symbols of hope to her, bright reminders that love is never far away. Those who loved Nettie will surely think of her whenever they see one.
Her legacy lives on in the joy she sparked, the love she gave freely, and the love she leaves behind for all who were blessed. She joined hands with the Lord peacefully, surrounded by those she loved and cherished deeply. Let her life be remembered with warmth, and may her memory be a gentle blessing to all who knew her.
