Michael L. Fleming

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Michael L. Fleming at Presidential Post Acute in Marion, Ohio on June 26, 2026. 

Michael was born to Donald and Leah (Brown) Fleming on February 1, 1967, in Portsmouth, Virginia. His formative years were spent in the Waldo area where he attended River Valley schools and ultimately graduating from Marion Catholic High School in 1985. He was of the Mormon faith and attended Brigham Young University in Utah for a year. Michael loved playing softball and is well known in the adult leagues in and around Marion. He loved coaching and offered pitching instructions to many upcoming pitchers. 

Michael was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Leah Michelle Dyer. Left to cherish his memory are Uncles Gerald (Sonja) and Bruce Fleming, special friends Terry Morgan, Nate Large and Buddy Lyles and numerous cousins. 

In accordance with his wishes, Michael will be laid to rest in the Waldo Cemetery next to his father, mother and sister. A graveside service will be conducted on June 29, at 11:00 am. followed by a meal for family and friends at the Waldo Methodist Church.
