Michael "Mike" C. Hoy

Michael "Mike" C. Hoy, age 49, of Marseilles, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021, in the Emergency Room of Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.

Mike was born on February 6, 1972, in Upper Sandusky, Ohio,  to James E. and Janice (Bianchi) Hoy, both of whom are deceased.  He married Tammy Hanshaw and she survives.

He is survived by 5 children, Kaylee (Keith) Malone of Bucyrus, Morgan (Aaron) Butler of Shreve, Ohio, Macy (Tyler) Grant of Charleston, South Carolina, Monica (Travis) Baird of Sycamore, and MaKenna Hoy of Marseilles, and 4 grandchildren, Addison Malone, Cale, Asher, and Myah Baird.

Mike is also survived by 3 brothers, Tim Hoy of Findlay, Charles (Linda) Hoy of Upper Sandusky, and Robert Hoy of Marion.

Mike completed his Law Enforcement Associate of Technical Certification from Marion Technical Institute and began his career at the Wyandot county sheriff's office where he served the citizens of Wyandot for the past 23 years. Mike was also known for his volunteer service with the Marseilles Fire Department and service work at Hannah's House. Mike also volunteered time helping at Ground Zero in the 911 aftermath

Those close to Mike know him as an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting, and camping. He also was a devoted Earnhardt fan and had a passion for riding Harley's.

Mike will be remembered for his big heart and giving nature for others.  He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services for Michael C. Hoy will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 6, 2021, at the Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating.  Burial will follow at Wharton, Richland, Union Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hannah's House and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
