Melodee Ruth Hoy

Melodee Ruth Hoy, age 53, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at her home after an extended illness.

She was born on November 9, 1961 in Hardin County, to Herman and Ruth (Bear) Hoy, both of whom are deceased.

Melodee is survived by Dennis Jackson of Reynoldsburg, a sister Chris Moses of Kirby, and 3 brothers, Jon Hoy of rural Forest, Matt (Donna) Hoy of Bucyrus, and Dan (Lisa) Hoy of Upper Sandusky. Along with nieces and nephews: Brian (Lindsey) Moses, Josh Moses, Ashley Perry, Cassie and Joe Hoy, and great nieces and nephews: Aiden and Madison Perry, Bentley Winemiller, and Graham and Quinn Moses.

She was a graduate of Upper Sandusky High School Class of 1980 and continued her education at The Ohio State University and graduated with a BS in Computer Science.
After graduation she worked for the State of Ohio Youth Services and Ernst & Young.

Melodee enjoyed backpacking, hiking, skiing, and family trips to the beach. She was an active member of the OSU Alumni Association, and enjoyed attending the OSU football and basketball games. She also volunteered at the Zangmeister Cancer Center in Columbus and also participated in support programs with her friends at the center.

Melodee will be remember as someone who loved to spend time with her family, friends, and pets.

Memorial services for Melodee will be held at 3:00pm Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

Visitations will be held 1 hour before service time on Monday at the funeral home.
