Maureen D. (Duffner) Caldwell

Maureen D. Caldwell, age 77, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Mill Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Galion, Ohio.

Maureen was born on May 29, 1945, in Crestline, Ohio, to Martin and Martha (Cochran) Duffner, both of whom are deceased.  She married Ted Caldwell on June 18, 1966, at the Nevada Lutheran Church, and he passed away on April 29, 2008.

She is survived by her 3 children, Barry Caldwell of Delaware, Ohio, Brian (Amie) Caldwell of Bucyrus, and Amy (Doug) Shatzer of Tiro. Grandchildren, Rae Ann Caldwell, Wyatt Caldwell, Martin Caldwell, Lanny Caldwell, Saulee Shatzer and Seth Shatzer, and 5 great grandchildren, Raynlee and Mylahh Shatzer, Kelly, Kaleb Pearce, and Elizabeth Morgan.

Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a great grandchild, Rozalee Shatzer, 2 brothers, Lanny and Duane Duffner, and sisters, Faith, Darlene, Kay, Sandy, and Crystal.

She was a homemaker and had worked for Pfeifer Hardware in Upper Sandusky.

Maureen was a member of the Nevada United Methodist Church, where she participated with the Faith Circle, the Clown Ministry, and also had served as the church financial secretary.

She also was part of the original group of volunteers that were part of the Nevada EMS, and the Nevada Volunteer Firemen's Auxiliary.

For hobbies, Maureen enjoyed sending cards to family and friends, following the OSU Buckeyes and spending time with her Grandchildren.

Funeral services for Maureen D. Caldwell will be held 11:00am Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Philip Clark officiating.  Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, May 25, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
