Mary Lou Wieging

Mary Lou Wieging, age 78, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 8:38pm at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

Lou was born on March 12, 1933 in Delphos, Ohio to Joseph A. and Mary Rose, both of whom are deceased. She went on to graduate from Delphos St. John's High School in 1951. On May 8, 1954 in Delphos, Lou married Merlin J. Wieging and he survives in Upper Sandusky.

Also surviving are 6 children, Cindy M. (Dave) Miller of Upper Sandusky, Laura L. (Devon) Leightey of Upper Sandusky, Mag A. (Gary) Rowland of Harpster, Tony J. Wieging of Tiffin, Jane L. (Jon) Rieser of Harpster and Andy J. Wieging of Upper Sandusky. 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Irene Griffard and Juanita Stokes.

Lou loved reading, cooking, and visiting with her family and friends. Her home was your home. Everyone was always welcomed. She will be remembered as a mom and grandmother who was loving. She was the assistant to the principal at St. Peter's Catholic School for six years.

Lou was a long time member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky and also a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church with Father J.R. Hadnagy officiating the services. Burial will follow at the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 4pm - 8pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time on Friday at the church.
