Mary J. Tong

Mary J. Tong, age 93, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of Morral, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 6:25am at Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

Mary was born on March 8, 1922 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Elmer and Bernice (Moffet) Stansbery. She married Robert Tong Sr. on June 16, 1940 and he survives.

She is survived by 2 children, Robert (Dace) Tong, Jr., of Upper Sandusky, and Sue Tong of Morral. 3 grandchildren, Nik (Stacy) Tong, Aaron Tong and Amy (Glenn) Switts, and 5 great grandchildren, Brandon Tong, Brooke Tong, Kaden Tong, Brendan Switts and Ryan Switts. Along with a brother, Charles (Lou) Stansbery of Leslie, Arkansas.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Eugene Stansbery, and a sister Frances Krauz.

Mary was a homemaker and also had worked for WMRN in Marion, and also Job & Family Services in Marion.

She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion for over 60 years. A member of Hickory Grove Golf Club in Harpster, Ohio, and the PERI Retirement Club in Marion.

For hobbies she enjoyed golfing, reading and playing the piano.

Funeral services for Mary will be held at 7:00pm Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Kevin Kehn officiating.

Visitations will be held on 2 hours before service time, 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Wednesday at the funeral home in Upper Sandusky.
