Mary L. Spears

Mary L. Spears, age 90, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away at 2:25pm on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby, Ohio.

Mary was born in Bucyrus, Ohio, on February 26, 1931, to Clyde Otho and Odessa (Heinlen) Motter. Mary was married to Thomas Spears and he preceded her in death on November 19, 1994.

Mary is survived by her son Richard Lee Spears of Nevada, four nieces: Josette (Roger) Larick-Johnson of Michigan, Nadine (Rick) Leitzy of Bucyrus, Corrine Coldiron of Nevada, and Mari (Gregg) Burris of Caledonia, and her schoolmate and friend, Sonya Miller.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Pearlleta Larick, and brother-in-law, Harold Eugene Larick.

Mary graduated from Nevada High School with the class of 1949. She served on the Nevada Election Board, and was a member of the Nevada Lutheran Church. Mary loved animals – especially her cats. She enjoyed helping her neighbors and friends in any way that she could.

Graveside services for Mary L. Spears will be private.
