Mary Ida Emmons, age 99, of LaRue, Ohio and has been a resident of Kenton Nursing Home for the past 3 years, died Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7:41pm at the nursing home.
She was born on November 5, 1908 in Brock, Ohio to Jerry E. and Lucinda Mae(Emmons) Armstrong. She married Ralph Eugene Emmons on October 1, 1933 in Erie, Pennsylvania and he died on April 28, 1986.
Surviving is a son Keith Emmons of LaRue, Ohio along with 6 Grandchildren and 7 Greatgrandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Glen Armstrong of Versailles, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a son in infancy and a daughter Myrna A. Lydick. Also preceding her in death
was a grandchild, Lucinda Wolke along with a brother, Ora A. Armstrong and 2 sisters, Amy Smith and Frances Choate.
Mary worked for North Central Electric Company in Kenton along with being a homemaker and helping out on the family farm.
For hobbies she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, sewing, reading, especially the editorials and columns in various newspapers.
