Morral

Mary E. Ralph, 86, of Morral, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Marion General Hospital surrounded by her family on November 4, 2026.

Mary enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved playing cards, cooking and baking, listening to Patsy Cline, tending to her flowers, and making trips up to Lake Erie. She spent many years caring for her greenhouse, where she could enjoy one of her favorite things. If there was one thing Mary knew how to do, it was catch a walleye and grow red geraniums. She was pretty well known for reeling in the biggest ones, and she was never one to let anyone forget it.

Life on the farm was a big part of Mary’s story. She spent her days in the kitchen preparing meals for the guys working on the farm and never hesitated to pack up lunch and head out to the fields to make sure everyone got something to eat. And let’s not forget the many trips she took proudly driving the anhydrous tanks to and from fields. Taking care of people was just something Mary did.

Mary and Don were married on April 16, 1957, and shared nearly 70 years together, building a family and a lifetime of memories.

Mary leaves behind her husband, Don Ralph; her children, Mike (Deb) Ralph, Ken (Melinda) Ralph, and Cindy (John) Cocherl; her grandchildren, Sarah (Aaron) Clevenger, Stephanie Dunn, Michelle (Chad) Mattix, JP Cocherl, Nathan (Sarah) Cocherl, Michael (Caitlin) Ralph, Cole (Mckenna) Cocherl, Meridith (Nate) Hickman; along with many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Leah Jean (Chance) Jury; her siblings, Margaret Jury, Donald Jury, and Charles Jury; Helen Jury, John (Shirley) Ralph, Carol (Curt) Althouse, Sandy Cramer; and her nephew, David Ralph.

Mary will be remembered for her quick wit, her secret potato salad recipe that nobody could quite duplicate, her famous pies, and most of all, the love she had for her family. Whether it was enjoying one of her homemade dishes, playing a game of cards, or making memories up at the lake, those are the moments her family will cherish for years to come.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Marion General Hospital. As well as Heather, Jeanette, Tiffany, and Aundrea for the wonderful care, kindness, and compassion they provided Mary at home.

Funeral services for Mary Ralph will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Rev. Kathy Herr. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitations for Mary will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at the funeral home, and from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Thursday, prior to the service.
