Mary Jean Alban

Mary Jean Alban, age 86, formerly of Nevada, Ohio and most recently of Tiffin, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 2:35am at St. Francis Home in Tiffin, Ohio.

She was born on October 28, 1923 in Eden Township-Wyandot County to Leonard and Oddie (Mosman) McDaniel both of whom are deceased. She married Donald Eugene Alban on September 16, 1962 at the Union Methodist Church and he died on January 11, 2004.

Mary Jean is survived by a brother Dale (Janet) McDaniel of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and a niece Rosalie (Leo) Hahl of Republic, Ohio along with other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers Kenneth McDaniel and James McDaniel and a sister Doris Delahunty.

Mary graduated from Eden High School in 1942, she then worked at Timken Co. in Bucyrus for 28 A½ then she retired.

Mary was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ where she taught Children's Sunday School, sang in the choir, served as a deacon and elder, and was the Church's treasurer for several years. She also served as the president
of the Guild for 2 years. She was former member of the following organizations, the Farm Bureau Council #8B, the Pythian Sisters and the Nevada Lioness club.

For hobbies she enjoyed helping her husband Don on the farm, also doing crafts and sewing.

Funeral services for Mary Jean Alban will be held at 11:00am Saturday, May 29 at the Emanuel United Church with the Rev. Martin Stiffler officiating. Burial will follow in Nevada Cemetery.

Visitations will be held 1 hour before service time at the church on Saturday.
