Martha Ann Jennings

Martha Ann (Gilliland) Jennings of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, died on January 22, 2018 with her family by her side. She was 82.

She was born at home on November 6, 1935 to Harry and Bertha (Schilling) Gilliland, both of whom are deceased. She married Allen C. Jennings on July 28, 1957 and he passed away July 19, 1989.

Martha is survived by her daughters Beth (Don) Jindra of Sunbury, Ohio, and Janice (Carl) Tucker of La Luz, New Mexico. 2 grandchildren:  Jodie (Stefan Stojanovic) Jindra of North Royalton, Ohio, Ellie Jindra of Sunbury, her sister, Marie (Richard) Dilley of Westerville, Ohio, and her brother, James (Judy) Gilliland of Upper Sandusky, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins; two aunts, Anne Schilling and Lydia Guthrie and many loving and loyal friends.

She graduated from Nevada High School and Otterbein University with a degree in Education. She retired from Blanchard Valley Hospital as a diet technician. She enjoyed her daughters, grandchildren, visiting with friends, choral music, gardening, botanical garden tours, pipe organ music, Handel's Messiah, mowing grass, 4-H, genealogy and traveling.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all her friends and extended family who have provided her with so much love and joy and the wonderful staff at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing Home for their attentiveness and gentle care.

A memorial service for Martha Ann Jennings will be held on Monday, January 29th at 11:00 AM at Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church; 108 Malabar Drive; Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Jim Stauffer officiating.

A time of food and fellowship will take place immediately after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Allen and Martha Jennings Endowed Scholarship at Advancement Services; Otterbein University and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
