Marjorie B. Lawrence, age 96, formerly of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Frostproof, Florida, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011, at the Tara Plantation Senior Care Facility in Cumming, Georgia.

Marjorie was born on November 2, 1914, in Henry County, Ohio to George and Jennie (Hoffman) Armbruster, both of whom are deceased. She married Robert E. Lawrence on August 9, 1942; he passed away on February 5, 1999.

Marjorie is survived by nine children: Sharon Thorpe of Frostproof, FL, Elaine (Alan) McClish of Bucyrus, Daniel (Donna) Lawrence of North Chili, NY, Dianna (Steven) Shugart of Cumming, GA, Barbara (Michael) Vines of Richmond, VA, Timothy Lawrence of Sarasota, FL, David (Kimberly) Lawrence of Farmington, NY, Rebecca (Chester) Wilson of Pataskala, OH, and Jeri (Steve) Moore of Hamilton, OH, along with 25 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.

Marjorie is also survived by one brother, Richard (Marjorie) Armbruster of Bucyrus, and four sisters, Ann (Jack) Everett of Hermitage, PA, Lois Lucas, Dorothy (Gene) Beaston, and Wilma Greenwood, all of Frostproof, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three grandchildren (Adam Wilson, Joshua Shugart, Shannon Wilson), a brother (Robert Armbruster), and two sisters, (Helen Johnson, Mary Rivero).

Marjorie was a retired teacher, having taught for 30 years, primarily at Nevada Elementary.

Marjorie was of the Christian faith, having attended Mt. Zion UMC, Lighthouse Baptist Church, both in Bucyrus, and Shepherd Christian Community of Frostproof. She was a graduate of Nevada High School and Bowling Green State University. She enjoyed landscape painting and baking.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, with Pastor Earl Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Nevada Cemetery in Nevada, Ohio.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in care of the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
