Marjorie King Heistand Collene

Marjorie "Marge" Collene, 91, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Carlisle Place in Bucyrus.

She was born March 12, 1923 in Nevada, Ohio to the late Arthur "Ott" and Mary (Keltner) King.

Marge is survived by daughters, Mary Striebeck of Lubbock, Texas; Cheryl Heistand of Bucyrus; Charlotte Ann (James) Baker of Plano, Texas; son, Larry (Sharon) Heistand of Westerville; special family member, Theresa Villasana of Bucyrus; sister-in-laws, Evelyn King of Bucyrus and Alice King of Upper Sandusky and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by grandchildren, Angela (Erik) Wirtz of Cedar Park, Texas; Brandon Ward of Wautaga, Tennessee; Marcos Striebeck of Midland, Texas; Kassandra Striebeck and Jeremiah Jones of Lubbock, Texas; David (Brandy) Heistand of Pickerington; Andrea (Mitchell) Camp of Fairborn and great grandchildren, Connor Grayson Wirtz of Cedar Park, Texas; Mason Christopher Heistand of Pickerington and Madelyn Rose Camp of Fairborn.


She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clayton, Paul and Myron King; husbands, Dale W. Heistand and James E. Collene; son, James Patrick Collene and son-in-law, Lutz P. Striebeck.

Marge graduated from Nevada High School in 1941 and worked for the Westinghouse Company in Upper Sandusky, the Timken Company in Bucyrus, the Sunkist Company in Phoenix, Arizona and for Texas Instruments Incorporated in Dallas, Texas and Johnson City, Tennessee before retiring in 1987. She was a member of the Order Of The Eastern Star, Nevada and Bucyrus Chapters, for over 60 years and a member of the Nevada Lutheran Church. Marge was very creative and spent many hours quilting, sewing, crocheting, and doing arts and crafts. She also loved growing flowers and cactus and enjoyed following NASCAR.


The family would like to thank all of the staff at Carlisle Place and HomeCare Matters Home Health and Hospice for their kindness and for their wonderful care given to our Mother.

Funeral services for Marge Collene will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, September 6, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada with burial following at Nevada Cemetery.

The family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.at the funeral home. Pallbearers are David Heistand, Mitchell Camp, James Baker, Donald Orewiler, Daniel King, Douglas King and honorary pallbearer, Ronald Cover.
