Marjorie J. Debolt

Marjorie J. DeBolt, age 91, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.

Marjorie was born on March 15, 1923 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to Edgar and Philomena "Minnie" (Balduf) Smith, both of whom are deceased. She was married to Dodge Granville DeBolt, Jr. and he is deceased.

Surviving are 2 sons: Dodge G. "Doug" (Barbara) DeBolt of Gold Canyon, AZ and Timothy M. (Susan) DeBolt of McMinnville, OR, 2 daughters: Cheryl S. Osborn of Durango, CO. and Cecelia E. DeBolt-Martin of Upper Sandusky, 8 grandchildren, John Osborn and Dave Osborn, Colorado; Amy McAndrew, Cassandra (Ronnie) Craig, and Marie (Jeff) Weller, all of Arizona; Dylan DeBolt, Oregon; and Angel Martin and Justin Martin, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 2 sons in-law: John Osborn and John Martin, a grandson, Benjamin Martin, 3 brothers: Edgar, Norman and Herbert Smith, and 2 sisters: Genevieve Sharbonneau and Doris Hanloh.

Marjorie was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky. She was a 1941 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and attended St. Peter's School her first eight years.

She enjoyed crocheting afghans, which were passed on to her family, baking, and working crossword puzzles. She was a kind, loving, and attentive mother and grandmother. She was a gentle soul.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Sister Jeanette Zielinski officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from Noon to 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery near Upper Sandusky.
