Marion L. Stalter

Marion L. Stalter, age 87, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away on Sunday evening
At the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

Marion was born on February 19, 1925 in Marion, Ohio to Ira l. and Helen L. (Krause) Stalter.

He was first married to Reva Jean Coleman and she is deceased. He then married Helen Yarger and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

Also surviving is a daughter Rosemary Harmon of Upper Sandusky and grandchildren, Barry Harmon of Upper Sandusky, Allen Meadows of New Orleans, Louisiana, Scott (Ruthie) Stalter of Richwood and Ashley Stalter of Columbus and a great grandchild Skylar Stalter.

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Stalter and a brother, Jack.

Marion was a graduate of Upper Sandusky High School Class of 1944. He went on to serve our country in the US Army during World War II having served during the European-African Middle Eastern Theatre.

He was a life member of the following service organizations all in Upper Sandusky: Amvets #777, American Legion Post #225 and VFW #2842 where he served as commander for 11 years and post chaplain for many years. Marion also took part in
graveside rites of local veterans funerals with the local color guard for many years.

Marion was a member of the John Stewart United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky
and for hobbies he enjoyed playing cards and enjoyed a good visit with family and friends.

Funeral services for Marion L. Stalter will be held at 11:00am Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Gary Stumbo officiating the services. Burial will follow at the Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Color Guard.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
