Upper Sandusky

Marilyn J. Picklesimer, age 83, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on January 1, 2021 at 11:30pm at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.

Marilyn was born on March 18, 1937 in Upper Sandusky to Ernest and Mildred (Kissling) Dillon.  She was first married to Jim Shafer of Camdenton, Missouri. She later married Max Picklesimer on July 2, 1988 and he survives.

She is survived by her brother LaVerne Dillon of Gahanna, Ohio, daughter Kelly Shafer of Marion, Ohio along with Max's daughters, Tammy Black of Fremont, Ohio and Tracy Vent of Eaton, Ohio, two grandchildren, Laniesa Shafer of Chicago, Illinois and Eric Shafer of Columbus, Ohio.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Pamela Shafer, and a son Jeffrey Shafer.

She was a 1955 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and went on to attend the Columbus Business College.

Marilyn was an administrative assistant, having worked at the Wyandot County Commissioners Office, United Church Homes, and Angeline School of Opportunity in Upper Sandusky.  She along with her husband, Max, owned and operated Carey Printing for many years.

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church where she took part with the Pairs & Spares Sunday School Class.

For hobbies she enjoyed shopping, traveling, reading mystery novels and watching sports.

Funeral services for Marilyn J. Picklesimer will be held on 1:00pm Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Stauffer and Steve Sturgeon officiating.  Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 1 hour before the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Angeline School of Opportunity or the Wyandot County Home Activities Fund and can be sent to Lucas-Batton,  476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio  43351.
