Luella Stump, age 89, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 3:25pm at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky after a brief illness.
Luella was born on September 20, 1924 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Rollin and Phyllis (Grundtisch) Caldwell, both of whom are deceased.
Survived by a son Lee (Pat) Stump, Upper Sandusky, a grandson Nicholas (Teri) Stump of Tiffin, two granddaughters Jana (Randy) Hutzenbiler, Savage, MT, Kate (Guy) Curtis, Midlothian, TX. She was preceded in death by a grandson Michael Stump. She also has five great-grandsons Gavin and Avery Stump, Kolby and Kevin Hutzenbiler, Cash Curtis, and a great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Stump. She was expecting three new great-grandchildren in this year. She is survived by three step-grandsons, Ryan (Shannan) Karg, Shaker Heights, OH, Chad (Ellen) Karg, and Todd (Tricia) Karg of Dublin,OH
Graduated from Salem High School in 1942 and went on to
graduate of Evangelical Hospital of Nursing, Chicago as a Registered Nurse in 1945. She then served in the Navy Nurse Corp. in California from May 1952-Oct.1954 as a Lt. J.G.
She was a Past Matron of Warpole Chapter #366-Eastern Star, member of Colonel Crawford Chapter DAR and John Stewart Methodist Church, along with the
American Legion Post #225, all in Upper Sandusky.
Luella was an avid reader, loved to crochet, watch Pawn Stars and the History channel in her spare time. She was a Pittsburg Steelers and an Indiana Pacers fan.
Her son, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlights of her life.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Brian Arnold officiating. An Eastern Star Service will be conducted just prior to service time on Saturday.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
