Lowell Thomas "Tom" Brown

Lowell Thomas "Tom" Brown, age 77, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 9:13am at the Fairhaven Retirement and Healthcare Community in Upper Sandusky.

Tom was born on November 13, 1933 in Wood County, Ohio to Clarence William and Elfie Rae (Richard) Brown, both of whom are deceased. He married Pat Newhouse on February 12, 1954 in Fostoria, Ohio and she survives.

Also surviving are a son, Joel Brown of Upper Sandusky and 2 daughters, Jolynn Rae (Rick) Hartschuh of Upper Sandusky and Jean Ann (Robert) Fox of Forest, Ohio. Along with 2 grandchildren Jacob and Derek Hartschuh and a brother Larry (Dawn) Brown of Arcadia.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Richard, Charlie and Wayne and a sister, Joyce Dieter.

Tom was truck driver having owned and operated his own truck for over 50 years. He had also had worked part time for Uni-Grip in Upper Sandusky.

He attended Smithville United Methodist Church and was a member of Enterprise Lodge 579 F&AM Sycamore, Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, Aladdin Temple Shrine, Wyandot County Shrine Club, Warpole Chapter 366 OES in Upper Sandusky serving as Sentinel in both Lodge and Chapter.

For hobbies Tom enjoyed collecting tonka trucks, going to flea markets, being outside and cutting wood and also collecting vintage cars.

Funeral services for Lowell Thomas Brown will be held at 11:00am Thursday, March 17 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Mary Curtis officiating. Burial will follow at Smithville Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, March 16, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with an Eastern Star Service at 5:45pm and Masonic Service at 8:00pm on Wednesday.
