Louella A. Clay, age 76 of Harpster, Ohio, passed away
on Thursday, September 25, at 10:40pm at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.
Louella was born on April 22, 1938 in Kenton, Ohio, to Claude and Lillie Louise (Fierabend)Hosack, both of whom are deceased. She married Kenneth V. Clay on September 5, 1958 in Lima, Ohio, and he survives.
She is survived by a son Kenneth V. "Bud" (Lynn) Clay II of Nevada, 3 daughers, Debra S. Bjorling of Carey, Catherine M. (Jerry) Walter of Upper Sandusky, and Marva L. Morrison of Harpster. 10 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters also survive.
Louella is survived by 2 brothers, Charles Hosack and Robert Hosack both of Kenton, a sister Gaylo Howard of Deming, New Mexico.
Louella and Kenneth also raised 2 children who also survive, Jeff McQuistion and Connie Patchett.
She was preceded in death by a grandson.
Louella was a registered nurse and worked in the surgical and emergency room of Wyandot Memorial Hospital retiring in 1990 after 23 years of service.
She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, song leader and a member of the United Methodist Women.
Louella was a former member of the Rebekkah Olympia Lodge 510 in Marseilles and a volunteer of the Red Cross of Wyandot County.
For hobbies she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, playing the piano, autoharp and accordion.
Funeral services for Louella A. Clay will be held at 3:00pm Monday, September 29, 2014 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Rick Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Little Sandusky Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Monday, 2 hours before service time, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot Memorial Hospital or Hospice of Wyandot County and can be sent to the funeral home.
