Loren H. Dillon, age 92, of Westerville and formerly of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital.

Loren was born on July 20, 1933, in Upper Sandusky, to Dewey and Ruth (Krupp) Dillon. Loren married Lois Hellwig on September 18, 1960, in Elmore, Ohio, and she survives in Westerville.

Loren is survived by his children Sue (Lee) Hoelscher of Westerville and Stephen (formerly Laura) Dillon of Upper Sandusky. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kenya Dillon of Dayton, Isaac Dillon of New Bloomington, Nicholas and Emily Hoelscher of Westerville, and sister-in-law Grace (Hellwig) Deitemyer of Rockville, MD. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and cousins who Loren enjoyed friendship with throughout the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Paul (Annabelle Baumgarder) Dillon, Barbara (Daniel) Reed, Carol (Charles) Bixler, brother-in-law Dale Deitemyer, nieces Greta Bixler and Gwen Waggoner, and nephews Richard Dillon and John Reed.

Loren graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1951 and went on to serve in the United States Army. Loren was a car salesman for 50 years, and the owner of Crow Motor Sales for 25 years.

Loren was an active member of First Lutheran Church, the Upper Sandusky Lions Club, Elks Lodge, American Legion Post 225Loren was also a 68 year member of Warpole Masonic Lodge #176 F&AM; 68 year member of McCutchen Chapter #96 R.A.M.; 68 year member of Upper Sandusky Council #98 R&SM; belonged to Marion Commander #36 of Knights Templar; Aladdin Shrine Temple in Columbus and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo.

For hobbies, Loren enjoyed playing golf, working in his yard, and going to grandchildren’s athletic events. Loren especially enjoyed volunteering for the Lion’s Club service projects.

A funeral service for Loren Dillon will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the First Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Rev. Doug Warburton. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.
