Lonnie Joe Buess, age 77, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of Carey, passed away home on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
Joe was born on April 28, 1948, to Farrell and Clara (Clinger) Buess and they preceded him in death. He was once married to Carol Trausch
Joe is survived by his daughter, Angela (Israel) Swavel of Upper Sandusky, son James Buess, 2 granddaughters: Claire Swavel of Bucyrus, and Caitlin Swavel of Upper Sandusky, 1 great grandson on the way, Coleson, sisters in law: Barbara Buess of Wharton, Sylvia Buess of Columbus, and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers: Richard, Norman, and Ronald Buess, and his sister Margie Conley.
Joe graduated from Riverdale High School in 1966, and he served in the U.S. Army. Joe worked at Atlas Crank Shaft in Fostoria until his retirement. Joe then went on to work at Cooper Tire as a security guard and worked at Wayside Golf Course in retirement.
For hobbies, Joe enjoyed playing golf, going bowling, drinking coffee, spending time with his neighbors, following the Guardians, Brown's, and Buckeye's. Joe loved his cat Ollie, and he especially loved spending time with his granddaughters and going to all their activities over the years.
A funeral service for Lonnie Joe Buess will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Pastor Steve Sturgeon.
Visitations will be held 2 hours prior to the service, from 9:00 - 11:00 am on Friday.
