Lois J. Pfeiffer, age 91, formerly of Forest, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Logan Acres Senior Community in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
She was born on September 2, 1932 in Upper Sandusky, to William and Alpha (Sheaffer) Snyder, both of whom are deceased. She married Henry F. Pfeiffer on November 16, 1952 at the Trinity Evangelical Church and he passed away on February 20, 2003.
Lois is survived by her 5 children: Richard (Peggy) Pfeiffer of Wharton, Vickie (Joe) Martin of Upper Sandusky, Gary (Bettie) Pfeiffer of Wharton, Timothy (Patricia) Pfeiffer of Goldsboro, NC, Tammy (Jason) Hux of Urbana.
14 grandchildren: Brittany (Drew) Roach, Brandon (Charneth) Pfeiffer, Terry (Janelle) Kin, Jackie Peless, Beverly (Kenny Ward) Knapp, Cheyenne Pfeiffer, Kevin Stansbery, Adam Stansbery, Holly (Kevin) Donovan, April Pfeiffer, Danielle (Casey Hamilton) Burk, Natasha (John) Helmsdoerfer, Taylor (Torry) Fillmore, Jordan (Zackery) Livingston, Sydney (Nathan) Smith, and Meagan Hux,25 great grandchildren: Ella and Blaine Roach, Rexton Pfeiffer, Paige (Lee) Summers, Lauren Kin, Austin Kin, AJ Peless, Kaitlyn and Curtis Knapp, Taylor Orr, Michael Jr., Allison and Reagan Stansbery, Alyssa Grace, Jackson Ford and Olivia Kate Donovan, Shaina and Cadyn Hamilton, Kenneth and Catherine Helmsdoerfer, Amelia, Mateo and baby on the way Fillmore,Tucker and baby Jamison on the way Livingston, and Odin Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Yvonne Burk, a grandson Michael Stansbery, great granddaughter, Cerenity Stansbery, 5 brothers, Nelson, Donald, Edwin, Lloyd and Byron Snyder, and 6 sisters, Mildred Sealey, Martha Long, Hazel, Cecil, Ethel and Dorothy Snyder.
Lois was a homemaker and had worked in her earlier years for Kimmel Corp., along with doing babysitting through the years.
She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Church in Upper Sandusky, where she was baptized on May 20, 1945, and a past member of the Grant U.M.C., when she was living in Forest. She had served as the past president of the United Methodist Women.
Lois was a 7th Degree with the Greenwood Grange, and a member of the National Campers and Hikers Association, along with the following camping clubs: Wyandot Camping Club, Coffee Cups Camping Club, and the Would Roamers Camping Club.
For hobbies she enjoyed doing crafts, playing bingo and other games.
Funeral services for Lois Pfeiffer will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, September 1, at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Visitations will be held 1 hour before service time, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. For those attending, you are welcome to wear your Buckeye attire, or anything purple, which was her favorite color.
A graveside service for Lois Pfeiffer will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Hueston Cemetery, Forest, Ohio.
