Leroy Thoroughman

Leroy Thoroughman, age 81, of rural Sycamore, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 7:52am at Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

Leroy was born on September 5, 1929 in Lewis County, Kentucky to John F. and Mina (Corns) Thoroughman, both of whom are deceased. He married Ithel Rose in Grayson, Kentucky on May 4, 1956 and she survives in Sycamore.

Also surviving Leroy are three children: Faron (Shawn) Thoroughman of Springfield, Ohio, Reva Thoroughman of Springfield, Ohio, and Frank (Dee Dee) Thoroughman of Sycamore, seven grandchildren, Brianna Thoroughman, Brandon Thoroughman, Kelsey Thoroughman, Rebekha (Tommy) Bowman, Janice Thoroughman, Joseph (Lynette) Thoroughman, and Amy Thoroughman, and three great grandchildren, Weston Bowman, Hailey Bowman, and Clayton Thoroughman.

He is also survived by a brother Norpa Thurman of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Harlan, Frank, and Orville Thoroughman.

Leroy worked for over 30 years for Swan Rubber in Bucyrus retiring in 1991. He was also a lay minister, and for more than 25 years conducted services in nursing homes in Upper Sandusky and Carey until because of health reasons he retired from this as well. He faithfully attended the Nevada Pilgrim Holiness Church for 46 years. His passion was serving His Lord and spending his time with his family.

Funeral services for Leroy Thoroughman will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Nevada, Ohio with the Rev. Brian Spangler and the Rev. Steve Malone officiating the services. Burial will follow at the Nevada Cemetery in Nevada.

Friends may call from 2pm - 4pm and 7pm - 9pm on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada or one hour prior to service time on Thursday at the Pilgrim Holiness Church.
