Leah Jean Stone, age 94, of Harpster, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 4:33am at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
Jean was born on April 11, 1928 in Wyandot County, Ohio to Benjamin Franklin and Cuba Manilla (Gilliland) Frey, both of whom are deceased. She married Harold Eugene Stone on May 15, 1949, and he passed away on June 18, 2021.
Surviving are daughters, Karen (Sherman) Dow of Lake Bluff, IL, Gwen Stone of Harpster, OH, and Jill Stone of Delaware,OH; sons, G. Todd (Kim) Stone ofBellevue, OH and Hal Stone of Harpster, OH. Eight grandchildren, N. Martin Frisch, Janelle Frisch Cox, Leslie Stone Beaschler, Kelly Stone, Mark Stone (deceased), Abra Dow Mason, Erin Dow Habib and Vada Jean Stone. Eight great-grandchildren, Amber Caraballo, Alexis Frisch, Gabe Frisch, Ava Cox, Annabelle Cox, Hayden Beaschler, Maxwell Stone, and Remy Camille Mason. One great great grandchild, Lincoln Caraballo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers, Wilbur, Glen and Clifford Frey.
A 1946 graduate of Harpster High School, she worked about four years for North
Electric in Upper Sandusky and 11 years at the Wyandot County Health Department.
She was a member of the Harpster United Methodist Church.
Jean enjoyed sewing and cooking for loved ones all her life, and for hobbies, she enjoyed golfing at the Hickory Grove Golf Course in Harpster.
Funeral services for Leah Jean Stone will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 29, 2022 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Rev. Doug Kendrick officiating. Burial will take place at Nevada Cemetery
Visitations will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
