Kenneth N. Ratliff, 82, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, died at 10:20 am Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at his residence.
Kenneth was born on February 15, 1925 in Farmland, Indiana to Dennis T. & Ollie Lee (White) Ratliff and both are deceased. He married Mary E. Brewer on October 26, 1945 in Greenup, Kentucky and she died June 10, 2006. Surviving are five sons: Tom (& his wife Karen) Ratliff of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Larry (& his wife Bonnie) Ratliff of Upper Sandusky, Ron (& his wife Janet) Ratliff of Upper Sandusky, Fred(& his wife Chantell) Ratliff of Upper Sandusky & Rick (& his wife Nora) Ratliff of Lexington, Ohio; one daughter: Nancy (& her husband Bill) Brady of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; five brothers: Donald Ratliff of Athens, OH, Junior Ratliff of Indian Lake, OH, Owen Ratliff of Indian Lake, Gary Ratliff of Las Vegas, Nevada & Gene Ratliff of Kenton; four sisters: Geneva Fox of Carey, Ohio, Carolyn Cole of Upper Sandusky, Joyce Jacoby of Carey & Judy Mengerink of Upper Sandusky.
Kenneth was preceded in death by one son: Lonnie Ratliff; one grandson Joshua Ratliff; one step grandson: Michael Dunn Jr.; two great granddaughters: Brittany and Chelsea; one brother: Douglas Ratliff and three sisters: Norma Adams, and infant sisters, Mildred and Ruth.
Kenneth retired from the maintenance department of Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky. Before that he worked for many years for Schultz Plumbing and Heating in Upper Sandusky. Kenneth was a member of the Little Sandusky Bible Church. For hobbies he enjoyed collecting hats and model cars and spending time with his children and grandchildren. When his wife Mary was living, Kenneth enjoyed traveling and camping.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, September 21, 2007 at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Burial will be held at the Old Mission Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Timothy McGuire. Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Thursday, September 20 also at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Little Sandusky Bible Church and/or Hospice of Wyandot County and can be sent to the Lucas Batton Funeral Home 476 So. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
