Karen (Blust) Bogard Tuttle

October 7, 1941 — August 17, 2024

Upper Sandusky

Karen (Blust) Bogard Tuttle, 82, of Upper Sandusky passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, peacefully at home.

Karen was born in Tiffin, Ohio, on October 7, 1941, to Herbert and Etta (Creeger) Blust. Karen was married to Harold Tuttle on August 24, 2002, and he survives in Upper Sandusky.

Karen is survived by her son Gregory Scott (Laura) Bogard of Tiffin, daughter Beth Ann (Robert) McNamara of Upper Sandusky, granddaughter Emily Bogard of Tiffin, sister Judy (Hook) Henderson of Tiffin, brothers Mike (Patricia) Blust, and Joe (Mary Amlin) Blust both of Tiffin, and her loving in-laws Frances Secord, Jeanne Payne Jack Tuttle, and Jim Tuttle.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Sandy Doncyson, Steve Blust, mother and father-in-law, Harry and Ruth Tuttle, brother-in-law Mike Doncyson, sister-in-law Sharon Blust, brother-in-law Paul Henderson, and sister-in-law Ellen Voorhees.

Her husband, children, grandchild, family, and dogs were everything to Karen. She had many friends and embraced everyone she met in her lifetime. She opened her heart and home to family, friends, and neighbors in need. No one visited her without her offering to make something to eat. She was an exceptional cook and baker that seemed to make everything taste a little better. At family gatherings, Karen was known for her famous scalloped potatoes and pumpkin pies.

In her lifetime, Karen spent a good amount of her time sending greeting cards with special handwritten notes to family and friends for all occasions. She never missed a birthday, a special occasion, a holiday, or to say she was thinking of you. Karen loved to celebrate birthdays and holidays with family and friends. She would always wear a shirt, sweater or vest with matching earrings to represent a holiday or to cheer on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Karen loved dancing, music of Elvis Presley, and dogs large and small. She loved angels so much her house contained many beautiful pictures and figurines.

At age nine, Karen and her sisters, Judy and Sandy, performed as a singing and dancing act called the "Blust Trio". They gave performances around their neighborhood and were even on television once in the early 1950's.

Karen graduated from Tiffin Columbian in 1959. For many years, Karen was a homemaker and babysat children in her home. Later in life, she worked in the cafeteria at Wyandot Memorial Hospital and retired from Wyandot County Home. The most rewarding job for Karen was being a mom, grandma, and taking care of her family.

When family or friends would visit Karen, the night would always end with her saying "goodbye, watch out for the deer". This memory will be cherished among family and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Hospice of Wyandot Memorial staff for their amazing guidance and care for Karen.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery 895 E. County Road 36, Tiffin, Ohio, at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 31, 2024, and will be officiated by Rev. Brad McKibben.
