Julie K. Riedlinger, age 65, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.
Julie was born on May 24, 1960, in Upper Sandusky to Donald Sr. and Nancy (Motter) Bland. She then married Lynn Riedlinger on July 3, 1982, and he survives.
She is also survived by her children: Matt Riedlinger of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Emily (Kip) Alspach of Upper Sandusky, Kait (Mark) Yost of Carey, and grandchildren, Lucas, Cecelia, and Miriam Alspach, Riley Yost, Lucy Kinley, and Reid Yost.
Julie is survived by her brother, Donald Bland Jr. of Findlay, Carol (Don) Barth of Sycamore, and Dave (Sue) Bland of Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Nancy Bland.
Julie graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1978 and was a long-time member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church, serving as a hospitality minister. She volunteered at St. Peter's Catholic School, where she also worked in the cafeteria and served as a librarian. Later, Julie worked as a preschool aide at Steps Preschool, Trinity Evangelical.
Julie served as a 4H and Cloverbud advisor, as well as an adult staff member at 4H Camp Kelley's Island. She also volunteered as a youth advisor with the Farm Bureau.
Julie loved to travel, whether with her son Matt, or the Wyandot County Council on Aging, she had the opportunity to travel throughout the states, and many European countries. She also enjoyed gardening, both flower and vegetable, canning, and working on the farm with Lynn.
Julie's greatest happiness came from her family, especially her grandchildren. She made it a point to attend as many of their events as possible.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 27, at the Transfiguration Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky, with Father Savio Manavalan OFM Conv, and Deacon Kevin Winterstellar officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, October 26, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. A scripture wake service will be held on Sunday at 5:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's School, and or Wyandot County 4-H Advisory Council for the scholarship fund, and can be sent to Lucas Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
