Joyce C. Spurlock

Joyce C. Spurlock, age 45, of Benton Road, Sycamore, Ohio died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 1:46a.m. in the Emergency Room of Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

Joyce was born on May 19, 1962 in Jackson, Michigan to James Homer Hughes and Carol May (Tucker) Hughes, both of whom are deceased.

She married James "Sparky" Spurlock on October 31, 1981 in Bucyrus, Ohio and is
he is living. Also surviving are a son Tony and his wife Anna, Spurlock of Upper Sandusky. A granddaughter Zoe Spurlock. Six brothers survive; Mark Hughes of Marysville; Charles Hughes of Fostoria; Donald Hughes of Findlay; James Hughes of Fostoria; Homer Lee Amicerilli of Cocoa Beach, Florida; Malcom Amicerilli of Georgia. Two sisters also survive; Sandra Boden of Fostoria and Ora Brown of Fostoria.

Joyce had worked for 15 years as a nurses aid at the Wyandot Manor and before that at Fairhaven Home, both in Upper Sandusky. She was a member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle Church of Oceola where she helped with dinners at the church and at one time taught Sunday School. Some of her hobbies were cooking and baking and she loved to help others.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Friday, August 3 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada, Ohio. The clergy will be the Rev. Carl Angel. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore, Ohio. Visitations will be held on Thursday, August 2, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada.
