Joyce E. Funk

Joyce E. Funk, age 85, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away at 7:11 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

Joyce was born on December 14, 1936, in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Russell E. and Ida Mae (Wallace) Cover and they preceded her in death. She was once married to Wm. Ray Cramer and was then married to Frank H. "Butch" Funk on November 25, 1977, in Fostoria, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2019.

Joyce is survived by her children: Sheila (Dan) Gruenewald of Nevada, Eric (Shelly) Cramer of Nevada, Bob (Dawn) Cramer of Nevada, Frank K. (Jayme) Funk of Nevada, John C. (Dorothy, "Dottie") Funk of Tiffin, Dorthy M. (Jeff Tuttle) Williams of Bucyrus, and Todd (Kim) Chandler of Upper Sandusky. 35 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren also survive.

Joyce was preceded in death by her son Jeff Cramer, foster child Kim Patrick, 3 grandchildren, Jason Cramer, Katelynn Funk, and Tommy Thomas, a great grandson William G.A. Cramer, a son in law Joseph Williams, and her siblings: Archie, Bob, Delmar, and Dale Cover, Lee Sebring, and Janice Marie Cover.

Joyce graduated from Nevada High School in 1954 and went on to work for 20 years at Peabody in Galion. She was a lifelong member of Nevada United Methodist Church where she served as custodian for many years. Joyce was the Sesquicentennial Court Runner Up in Nevada.

Joyce enjoyed doing yardwork, going camping and taking motorcycle trips with her husband. She loved going square dancing at the Eagles Club in her earlier years, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

A funeral service for Joyce E. Funk will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 28, 2022, at Nevada United Methodist Church and will be officiated by Rev. David Smithey and Rev. Dennis Lafferty. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery.

Visitations for Joyce E. Funk will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and 1 hour prior to the funeral service at the Church.
