Irvin John Palmer, age 86, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and formerly of Priest Valley, California, passed away, at 11:20 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center.

John was born on December 19, 1938, in Coalinga, CA, to Nelson and Ethel (Sensibaugh) Palmer. John married Virginia Henley on October 4, 1961, in Carson City, Nevada, and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

John is also survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Misael) Godinez of Upper Sandusky, Sandra (Joe) Wade of Ahwahnee, CA, 6 Grandchildren: Kayla Godinez of Chicago, IL, Katarina (Jorge) Franco of Milpitas, CA, Joe Godinez of Athens, OH, Taylor (Nathan) Williams of Colorado, Jessica Wade of Fresno, CA, Lucas Wade of Ahwahnee, CA, and 1 great grandchild Elaine Williams. John is also survived by his sister Della (Jim) Mozzini of Fallon, NV.

John was preceded in death by his parents, and 4 siblings: Wallace Palmer, Marilyn Gillis, Ted Palmer, and George Palmer.

John graduated from Coalinga High School in 1957 and attended West Hill College in Coalinga and Fresno State College where he studied agriculture. John was a 4th generation rancher and farmer and worked on the farm with his father for many years.

John enjoyed going square dancing with his wife in his early years, and he went on all of his daughters school field trips. He enjoyed going on hunting and fishing trips with his close friend Joe Deford. John was a good father, and husband who worked hard and always took care of his family.

Services for John Palmer will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made with the Activities Fund at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
