John W. Goodrich, age 81, of Bryan, Ohio, and formerly of Wharton, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Fountain Park Assisted Living and Memory Care, Bryan, Ohio.
John was born on February 16, 1945 in Muncie, Indiana, to Wesley and Beverly (Carter) Goodrich, both of whom are deceased. He married Marilyn Cox on August, 21, 1963 in Muncie, and she passed away on November 29, 2014.
He is survived by his children: Pam (Mike) Means of Marietta, Ohio, John (Rosanne) Goodrich Jr., of Forest, Ohio, and Tom (Cathy) Goodrich of Bryan, and a daughter in law, Nicki Goodrich of Perrysburg, Ohio. Grandchildren: Wesley (Ashley) Taylor, Bradley Taylor, and Patrick (Bobbi Jo) Taylor, Adam Goodrich, Aaron (Shelby) Goodrich, Kelly (Yuri) Sebastiao, Katelyn (Kevin) Stotts, Alec (Katie) Goodrich, Ben Goodrich, Raegan (Jarett) Timmons, Hannah Goodrich, Brooke Phillips, and Chase Phillips, along with 22 great grandchildren.
John is also survived by a sister, Marjie (Rick) Gragg of Muncie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marilyn, a son Rob, and a sister, Debra Goodrich.
John was a 1963 graduate of Southside High School in Muncie, and went on to briefly serve our country in the U.S. Army. Upon his return from service, he wore many different hats of employment through the years, from serving with the Muncie Police Department, EMT, driving truck for Guardian Industries, to serving as a manager for various restaurants.
He had deep faith and love for the Lord, worshipping at the Bucyrus Church of the Nazarene, where he taught adult Sunday School. He also attended in recent years at the New Hope Community church in Bryan.
For hobbies, John enjoyed fishing, puzzles, cards, doing ceramics, attending family functions.
A celebration of life for John will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Ray LaSalle officiating.
There will be a visitation 2 hours before service time, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, at the funeral home on Saturday.
