Joan Davis-Lind

Joan Davis - Lind, age 86, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday,
December 25, 2014 at 7:25pm at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

Joan was born on April 10, 1928 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, to Robert and Stella (Walker) Jessie, both of whom are deceased. She married William Davis on August 19, 1946 in Greenup, Kentucky and he died on August 24, 1979. She then married John Lind on March 10, 1986 and he died on February 6, 2004.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Debera (John) Davis-Davidson of Bloomville, Ohio, and Pamela Davis-Bowen of Upper Sandusky. 5 grandchildren, David (Angie) Penwell Jr. of Harpster, Stacy Penwell of Marion, Jason Wills of Lyons, Oregon, Tina Howell of Metolius, Oregon, Kayla (Jordan) Slaymaker of Fayetteville, North Carolina, along with 12 great grandchildren.

Joan is also survived by a brother, Ray (Lucille) Jessie of Grayson, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her 4 sisters, Atha Withrow, Irene Whitt, Bobby Suttles, Juanita Riley, and 4 brothers, Ralph, Jack. Arvil, and Roger Jessie, and a son in law, Mark Bowen, and 4 great grandchildren.

Joan was a homemaker and has worked for 10 years as a nurses aid at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

She enjoyed in earlier years, Joan enjoyed spending time at her vacation home at Bay Point, Lake Erie, and also going out to eat.

Funeral services for Joan Davis-Lind will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
