Jimmie O. Stone

Jimmie O. Stone, age 72, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the Bucyrus Community Hospital, Bucyrus, Ohio.

Jimmie was born on March 22, 1951 in Lewis County, Kentucky to Flemon and Mary (Smith) Stone, both of whom are deceased.  He married Lucille VanScoder on July 1, 1972 and she survives.

He is survived by his children: Mary (Lazaro) Rosas of Nevada, Melissa (Juan) Rosas of Bucyrus, James Stone of Nevada, and Thomas (Sara) Stone of Upper Sandusky. 9 grandchildren: Crystal Munoz, Franklin Ward, Shannon Krizek, Miranda Myers, Juan Rosas, Daniel Rosas, Miguel Rosas, Jacob Vehrs, and Jackie Holcomb, along with 16 great grandchildren.

Jimmie is also survived by a brother, Flemon (Cora) Stone of Bucyrus, and a sister Vicky (Bud) Topper of Bucyrus.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold "Pete" Stone, and 6 sisters, Rosetta Butler, Caroline Hurst, Ann Oliver and Vernie Baumgarder, Helen Stone and Tiny Stone

Jimmie retired after working at Uni-Grip Manufacturing in Upper Sandusky for over 30 years.

For hobbies, he enjoyed fishing, collecting elephant figurines, working on cars, and taking care of his dogs, and spending time with his family.

Funeral services for Jimmie Stone will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Pastor Allen Stansbery officiating.  Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery.

Visitations will be held 2 hours before service time, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
