Jerry J. Austin, age 81, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014, at 5:55pm at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

He was born on April 8, 1933 in Marion, Ohio to Clarence and Lalah (Powell) Austin, both of whom are deceased. Jerry was once married to Jane Laubis, and she is deceased. He then married Marilyn (Parker) Grubbs on August 5, 1992 and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

Jerry is survived by a daughter, Karen (Phillip)Wilson of Sacramento, California, 1 granddaughter and a great granddaughter.

He is survived by 5 stepchildren, John Grubbs of Upper Sandusky, Scott Grubbs of Bellefontaine , David (Teresa) Grubbs of Dublin, Ohio, Douglals (Tracey) Grubbs of Marysville, Ohio Christina (Randy) Garberick of Powell, Ohio, along with 7 step grandchildren, Jeff, Maegen, Justin, Jeremy, Taylor, Thomas and Matt.

Jerry also is survived by 3 sisters, Charlene Williams of Upper Sandusky, Melba Rieff of Marion, Alice Hawk of Marion, and a brother, Clarence Austin Jr. of Bucyrus, along with many nieces and nephews, and a special sister in law, Sandy Austin of Upper Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Jack and Dallas Austin and 3 sisters Irene Jenny Ward, Mary Jane Wickman and June Uncapher, and a step son Charles Grubbs.

Jerry retired 1995 from the Tiffin Foundry and Machine Company in Tiffin, Ohio. He was a former member of the Warpole Lodge #176 F&AM in Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies Jerry enjoyed feeding birds, fishing, playing cards, sitting on his front porch and watching over the neighborhood.

Memorial services for Jerry J. Austin will be held at 1:30pm Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Stouffer officiating.

Visitations will be held from 12:00pm to 1:30pm on Saturday at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing Activities Fund, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and or The Arthritis Foundation and can be sent to
