Jeffery G. Shafer

Jeffery G. Shafer, age 54, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio Passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 12:30am in the Emergency Room of Wyandot Memorial Hospital.

Jeff was born on April 14, 1957 in Texarkana, AR to mother, Marilyn (Dillon) Picklesimer who survives in Upper Sandusky and father Jim (Ruth) Shafer of Camdenton, MO. He married his wife Carol (Podach) Shafer formerly of Fostoria on September 8, 1979 and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

Jeff is also survived by his son Eric Shafer of Upper Sandusky, a sister Kelly Shafer of Marion, Ohio , and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Florian and Louise Podach of Fostoria, Ohio.

Jeff was preceded in death by a infant sister Pamela Shafer.

Jeff graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1975 and then Ohio State University. He worked for United Church Homes in Marion, Ohio for 26 years and more recently Allmax Software in Kenton, Ohio.

Jeff has attended services for many years with his wife Carol at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies Jeff enjoyed Star Trek, building car models, working on cars and on computers and he loved his cats.

Funeral Mass for Jeffery G. Shafer will be held at 10:30am on Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky. Burial will follow at the Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitations will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 2pm- 5pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
