Jean Taylor Reinhart, age 94, of Carey, Ohio, passed away at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Upper Sandusky.
Jean was born on October 29, 1930, in Carey, Ohio, to Howard and Celestia (Clinger) Taylor. Jean was married to Richard D. Reinhart on November 24, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on May 27, 2022.
Jean is survived by a daughter, Judy Ann Orians of Mentone, Indiana, 2 grandchildren, Jason Lynn Ritter of Carey, and Kelly Jo Blair of Warsaw, Indiana, and 2 great-grandchildren, Grace Ann and Noah Aaron Luce, sister Phyllis Walter of Upper Sandusky, and her youngest brother Junior (Sharon) Taylor of Ridgeway, Ohio. Jean is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and her dear friend Barb Dyer.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her four brothers, Russell (Ruth), Ray, Paul and Donald (Helen) Taylor and 7 sisters, Gladys (Howard) Beck, Joan Taylor, Evelyn White, Jane (Jim) Beidelschies, Margaret (Nelson) Hewett, Jeanette (Guy) Tooley, Carolyn (Eugene) Swinehart, and brother in law Lyn Walter.
Jean attended school in McCutchenville and the Carey West End School. Jean was very hard-working, and she started her working career at a very young age, working on the family farm. Jean then went on to work at Swan Rubber in Carey for 20 years, then Westinghouse/AO Smith for 24 years until she retired. In her retirement, Jean worked at GFS in Findlay as a food demonstrator, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Jean loved being a homemaker, taking care of her home, tending to her flowers, and decorating her house. She was very fashionable and loved to go shopping. She enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Hawaii and going on bus tours, and in her earlier years she enjoyed bowling in various leagues with her husband Richard.
A funeral service for Jean Taylor Reinhart will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Rev. Cynthia Morrison. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitations will be held 1 hour prior to the service, from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturday, at the funeral Home.
