Jean Edward Kinley

Jean Edward Kinley, age 91, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of Ashland, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.

Jean was born on April 26, 1924 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio to Howard and Helen Hurd Kinley, both of whom are deceased. He married Beth Turner on April 10, 1947 in Upper Sandusky, and she passed away on May 17, 1998. Later Jean became acquainted with Geneva Dillon and they enjoyed many years of friendship.

He is survived by a son, Ron, and his wife Alice, Kinley of Portland, Oregon, three grandchildren, A. J. Saldivar of Chicago, Danny Kinley of Andover, MA, and Rachel Kinley of Portland, OR. Also five great grandchildren, and a brother, Neil, and his wife Janet, Kinley of Upper Sandusky,

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter
Cheryl Kinley Saldivar who passed away in 2011, and a sister, Joann Neumeister in 2006.

Jean lived in Ashland, OH during most of his career with John Deere Company, returning to Upper Sandusky in 1974 and enjoyed retirement for 33 years.


He earned his private pilot's license in 1947 and enjoyed flying throughout his adult life along with riding his Harley and boating. Vacations were usually taken in Northern Michigan. He was a long time speaker for and supporter of the Gideons.


Graveside services for Jean Edward Kinley will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating.

After the graveside services on Wednesday, there will be a visitation for Family and Friends, at Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky to Celebrate Jean's Life
starting at 12:00 pm in the Family Life Center.
