Jane Wood, age 57, of Upper Sandusky, passed away surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.
Jane was born on November 29, 1964, in Upper Sandusky, to John and Mary (Matheny) Adkins. Her mother survives in Upper Sandusky. She was married to Rick Wood on June 24, 1989, at John Stewart United Methodist Church, and he survives in Upper Sandusky.
Jane is also survived by her 3 children: Shawn Clady, Shane Adkins, both of Upper Sandusky, and Shayleen (Zach) Thacker of Carey, and 6 grandchildren: Talon, Price, Dalylah, Isabell, Harley, and Audrea.
Jane was preceded in death by her father, 2 brothers Steven "Whop" and Elben "Elrod" Adkins.
Jane graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1983. She worked at Special Occasions Catering in Upper Sandusky for many years, and most recently worked at Family Dollar in Upper Sandusky.
Jane was very family oriented and loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She loved the holidays where she could decorate the house and the family gatherings that came with it. Jane enjoyed going golfing, going on golfcart rides, playing darts, having bonfires in the back yard, playing games, especially Euchre and Candy Crush. Jane also loved traveling to West Virginia to visit family, especially on the 4th of July.
A funeral service for Jane Wood will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Mark Albert, a family friend. Burial will follow at Lee Cemetery, in Vanlue.
Visitations for Jane will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home.
