Jane Martin wants you to know she's off on a journey from which she won't return. She'd hoped to go to Texas and this season's OSU football games but instead, received a one-way ticket to a glorious eternal destination that will reunite her with family, friends, and long-lost loved ones.
She often talked about her parents, Larry and Kathryn Brubaker; her sister, Susan (Larry) Coder; her son, Steve (Kate) Johnson; her dear friend, Linda Sparks and many others she'll be overjoyed to see. With Jane's departure, the party in Heaven just got bigger and better, and many of her favorite people are already there!
Jane's travel plans leave her daughter Rene' (Frank) Zamora; son John (Emily) Ebright; grandchildren Sarah (Jennifer Walker) Ryan; Ethan, Eli, and Eva Ebright; Zara and Tia Johnson; and great-grandchildren, George and Della Walker-Ryan to reminisce about her super-powers as a loving, dedicated mom and grandmother. Jane is survived, too, by lifelong friends and high school classmates who remained loyal in her final Earthly weeks and days, and who were a source of comfort and strength to her family.
She was hard-working, organized to a fault, a math whiz, a force of nature who rarely sat still, an avid and knowledgeable college sports fan, and a grizzly of a mama bear if any of her family was hurting. She raised her children to be strong, determined, and resilient like her.
Never a fan of long goodbyes, Jane's quick exit is what she wanted. To honor her memory, be kind to someone less fortunate, make time for a friend, rescue an animal, plant some beautiful flowers, take a trip to the ocean, cook someone a great meal, raise a glass of wine, or crank up the Springsteen tunes – maybe all of that.
A memorial service for Jane Martin will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 24, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Rev. Ken Wessler.
