James R. "Jim" Siders, age 80, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away at 5:20am on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio.
Jim was born on May 3, 1931 in Arcanum, Ohio to James and Bessie Mae (Alexander) Siders both of whom are deceased. He married Marilyn (Howell) on September 29, 1951 in Oak Hill, Ohio and she survives in Upper Sandusky.
Also surviving Jim is a son Steve (Lisa) Siders of Delaware, Ohio and a daughter, Julie (E.Wayne) Byrum of Canton, Michigan, five grandchildren, Joanna Withrow, Jared Withrow, Jansen Withrow, Andrew Siders and Clayton Siders, two great grandchildren, Jewell Withrow and Makaya Fyock.
Also surviving Jim is a sister Violet Barnhart of Oak Hill, and a brother, Bill Siders of Jackson, Ohio.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Dale Siders, Paul Siders, Lewis Siders and Bob Siders.
Jim was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the Air Force.
He worked and retired from PICO in Southfield, Michigan where he was a welding supervisor.
Jim was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky where he was active with the Men With Vision ministry within the church. He was also a former member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Plymouth, Michigan. For hobbies, Jim enjoyed woodworking, making metal artwork figurines, fishing, golfing, and traveling to Branson, MO and winters in Lakeland, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating the services. Burial will follow at the Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky where a military graveside rites will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Veterans Color Guard.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 2:00pm - 5:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
