James E. Parsell

James E. Parsell, age 83, of Upper Sandusky, died March 3, 2008 at 9:13A.M. at Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ohio.

James was born on December 17, 1924 in Wyandot County to Marion V. and Mildred (Quail) Parsell both of whom are deceased. He married Kathryn Cora (Myers) Parsell on July 3, 1954 at the York Street Christian Church in rural Upper Sandusky, Ohio and she survives.

Also surviving James are three sons: Doug and his wife Erma, Parsell of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Dennis and his wife Diane, Parsell of Sycamore, Ohio, Devin and his wife Darlene, Parsell of Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Two Daughters: Dianna and her husband Dennis, Walton of Sycamore, Ohio, and Donna and her husband Brad, Thomas of Harpster, Ohio. Eighteen Grandchildren: Jerrod Parsell, Wesley Parsell, Lauren Parsell, Nelson Kinley, Cheryl Bowen, Vernon Kinley, Creston Kinley, Kori Parsell, Kyle Parsell, Kristen Parsell, Lisa Walton, Amanda Walton, Nathan Walton, Leslie Thomas, Lorri Stewart, Nicole Parsell, Scott Parsell, and Amy Parsell, and five Great-Grandchildren. Two Brothers: Wayne Parsell of Findlay, and Lewis Parsell of Forest. Four sisters: Estell Bowers of Nevada, OH, Irma Arnold of Marseilles, OH, Wanda Stout of Parkersburg, WV, and Vera Hopkins of Fayette, OH

James was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Karl Parsell, Vernon Parsell, and Donald Parsell, and one sister Mary Parsell.

He owned and operated Parsell TV and Radio Repair for 56 years, he retiring in 2007. James was a member of John Steward United Methodist Church, in Upper Sandusky. He was a member of the Eagles Club #2184 where he was a past president, Upper Sandusky Moose Lodge #1093 where he was past governor, and also the American Legion Post #225. He bowled on industrial I league, and he also sponsored the "Parsell Radio & TV Repair" Bowling team on Tuesday nights. For hobbies Jim enjoyed bowling, cooking, baking, and camping at Tee Pee Camp Grounds in Upper Sandusky.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 11:00a.m. at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. The Rev. Wayne Geissinger will be officiating the service. Burial will be at the Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2008 from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
