James F. Koehler

November 17, 1941 — March 4, 2025

Upper Sandusky

James F. Koehler, age 83, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in the home that he was born in, surrounded by his family.

He was born to CW and Cleo (Swartz) Koehler, on November 17, 1941 in Upper Sandusky.  He graduated in 1959 from Upper Sandusky High School and went on to graduate from the Columbus Business College.  Soon after graduation, Jim enlisted in the Army National Guard and served his country until being honorably discharged obtaining the rank of Sergeant after 6 years of service.

Jim is survived by his sister, Karen Bash of Upper Sandusky, and his niece, Kim (Rodney) Frey, nephews, Mark Bash, Dan Corbin, Dave Corbin, and Dennis Corbin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bruce and Richard, a sister, Iris Corbin, and niece, Debbie Corbin.

Jim owned and operated U.S. Concrete Products in Upper Sandusky for many years after acquiring the business from his father, C.W. Koehler.  Always keeping busy, Jim drove school bus for the Upper Sandusky School System for 16 years, a job that he truly loved.  He also worked part-time for the following businesses in the community, Bailey's Grocery, Standard Ohio Gas Station, Lincoln Hills Golf Club, and Bob's Country Side Golf.

He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, and lived out his faith, being remembered for his humbleness, doing everything with honesty, integrity, and dedicating his life to helping and caring for his family and friends, many times before himself.  You could not find a more loyal friend.

Jim was a member of the BPOE #83 in Upper Sandusky and enjoyed playing in the Elks golf league for many years.  Golf was a passion for him, and he excelled at it, having enjoyed 3 hole-in-ones, 2 at Lincoln Hills, and the other at T.P.C. at Southwind in Memphis, TN., along with winning various tournaments, including the A Flight at the Heart of Ohio at the former Hickory Grove Country Club.

Jim was known for his love of animals, especially his beloved pets that he had through the years. He also appreciated his community and enjoyed eating breakfast at the Corner Inn where he connected with old and new friends alike.  He will be greatly missed!

A graveside will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Barry Halter officiating.
