James "Jim" R. Kline, age 80, of Upper Sandusky, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024.

Jim was born on December 18, 1943, in Findlay, Ohio, to Harold and Clara (Martin) Kline. He was married to Karen Huffman on October 3, 1965, at Trinity Evangelical U.M.C. and she survives in Upper Sandusky.

Jim is survived by his daughter Melissa (Matt) Ricker of Carey, and his 3 grandchildren, James, Alex, and Leah Ricker. Jim is also survived by 8 siblings: Bill (Louise) Kline, Doris Imbody, Helen Brown, Lynda Weihrauch, Jerry (Martha) Kline, Bev (Gene) Parks, Barb (Bruce) Currie, and Pat Guterez, along with a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and 4 siblings, Kate Crozier, Virginia Gates, Carol Heldman, and Rose Willier.

Jim graduated from Van Buren High School in 1963. He started his working career at an early age, when he started working at Shady Grove Golf Course when he was 12 years old. Jim went on to work for Lite Star Oil Company, Chief Dairy, which is where he met his wife Karen, Micheli Corp., BOC Gases, and currently, Jim was working for the Wyandot County Humane Society.

For hobbies, Jim enjoyed golfing, especially going on the annual Maggie Valley golf trip. Jim also enjoyed spending time at the lake with his family, where they enjoyed going boating, water skiing, and fishing. Jim also enjoyed going snow skiing, reading, he was an avid Detroit Tigers fan, and he loved his dog Gracie. Jim especially loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm on Monday, June 17, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home. A time of sharing will be held at 6:00 pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot County Humane Society, Carey Athletic Boosters Cheerleading Fund, or Carey Competition Cheer and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
