James L. "Jim" Cook

James L. "Jim" Cook, age 70, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away Saturday, December 18, at 11:23pm at the Fairhaven Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Jim was born on October 1, 1940 in Tiffin, Ohio to Lester and Ruth (Beidelschies) Cook. His father is deceased and his mother is living in Upper Sandusky.

He married Rose E. Vaughn on February 21, 1959 in Upper Sandusky and she died March 9, 2002. He is survived by his companion, Marlene Quail of Upper Sandusky.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Tami Cook of Upper Sandusky, 2 granddaughters, Brandy Lundy of Upper Sandusky and Shyla Lundy of Upper Sandusky and a great granddaughter Rayna Kennedy. He is also survived by a sister Karon (Jerry) Compston of Upper Sandusky, a son in law, Lloyd Lundy of Upper Sandusky.

Jim was preceded in death by a daughter Tracy Lundy and his grandmother, Sophia Bartram who was a influential person in Jim's life.

Jim retired as a superintendent after 38 years with the Ohio Department of Transportation in Upper Sandusky. He was a social member of the Amvets # 777 in Upper Sandusky. For hobbies Jim enjoyed going to harness races and also attending various fairs especially the Wyandot County Fair and traveling to Amish Country. He also enjoyed working outside around the house, especially mowing his yard.


Funeral services for James L. Cook will be held at 11:00am Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitations will be Wednesday, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky. Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot County Home Health and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
