James R. Bowersock, age 78, of Findlay, and formerly of Carey, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, Ohio.
Jim was born on November 17, 1947, in Crestline, Ohio, to Raymond and Jane (Poole) Bowersock, both of whom are deceased. He married Linda Dages of Mansfield, together they had 5 children, which he is survived by: Michelle (Emmett Williams) Blanton of Findlay, Jamie (Amy Bosely) Bowersock of Charleston, Illinois, Tracy Swartz of Findlay, Jason (Crystal) Bowersock of Tuscan, Arizona, Tina (Doug Kuhn) Bowersock of Carey, and they later divorced.
He then married Meri Stoops of Carey and is survived by Andrea Bowling of Carey, Stef (Lonnie) Korody of Carey.
He is also survived by 15 grandchildren: Christopher (Leza) Blanton, Justin (Audra) Blanton, Kyla (Chad) DeAmicis, Kaiden (Faith) Bowersock, Alyeena Bowersock, Chelsie (Bradford) Schoonmaker, Kyle (Kaylee Wells) Swartz, Jadon Bowersock, Maisyn Bowersock, Anthony Miller, Alyvia Piddock, Levi Bowling, Alexis Bowling, Easton Bowling and Kensey Bowling, along with 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
Jim is also survived by 2 brothers, Robert (Mickey) Bowersock of Eminence, Kentucky, and Terry (Linda) Bowersock of Sarasota, Florida.
He was preceded in death by son in law, Andrew Swartz.
Jim had worked through the years at the following businesses: Copeland Corporation, Tower Automotive, and then Whirlpool Corporation, before retirement.
For hobbies, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, watching westerns, and following the Buckeyes, Brown and the Indians. As well as cheering on the Carey Blue Devils.
He was an active member of the American Legion, Eagles, and VFW.
