Ithel R. Thoroughman

Ithel Thoroughman, age 88, formerly of Sycamore, Ohio, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 4:40am at Dayspring of Miami Valley, Fairborn, Ohio.

Ithel was born on November 22, 1926 in Carter County, Kentucky to Harlan and Dovey Rose, both of whom are deceased. She married Leroy Thoroughman on May 4, 1956 in Grayson, Kentucky and he passed away on November 13, 2010.

She is survived by three children: Faron Thoroughman of Fairborn, Ohio, Reva Thoroughman of Springfield, Ohio, and Frank (Dee Dee) Thoroughman of Garden City, Michigan. Seven grandchildren, Brianna Thoroughman, Brandon Thoroughman, Kelsey Thoroughman, Rebekah (Tommy) Bowman, Janice (Daniel) Evans, Joseph (Lynette) Thoroughman, and Amy Thoroughman, and five great grandchildren, Weston Bowman, Hailey Bowman, Clayton Thoroughman, Ashlyn Bowman, and Rosa Thoroughman.

Ithel is survived by a half-sister and two half-brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, sister, and half-sister.


She was a homemaker and a member of the Nevada Pilgrim Holiness Church.

For hobbies she enjoyed gardening, reading, and word puzzles.

Funeral services for Ithel Thoroughman will be held at 1:30pm, Thursday, May 7, at the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Nevada, with the Rev. Steve Malone officiating. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada and 1 hour before service time at the church on Thursday.
