Irma A. Arnold, age 87, of Marseilles-Upper Sandusky area
of Wyandot County, died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ohio.
She was born on September 2, 1922, in Jackson Twp., Wyandot County to Marion V. and Mildrem (Quail) Parsell, both of whom are deceased. She married Harold J. "Whitey" Arnold on July 15, 1943 in Augusta, Georgia and he passed away on October 3, 2001.
Irma is survived by 2 daughters, Patricia (Lloyd) Swavel of Upper Sandusky, Carol (Gerry) Leeth of Upper Sandusky and a son J. Fred Arnold of Canal Winchester, Ohio. ten granchildren, Darrin and Adam Swavel, Jill Treadway, Shannon Miller, Tracy Wentling, Kerry Stover, Ashley Teets, Jennifer Semon, Jackie Shelton, and Jason Arnold, eighteen great grandchildren, Shane Adkins, Shanelle, Jordan, and Mariah Swavel, Taylor and Santana King, Denae and Megan Miller, Ross Wentling, Keely, Riley, and Zachary Stover, Jacob and Cassandra Semon, Nathaniel Arnold, Alora Jarvis, Shalyn and Trey Shelton.
Irma is also survived by two brothers, Wayne Parsell of Findlay, Ohio, and Lewis Parsell of Arlington, Ohio, three sisters, Vera Hopkins of Fayette, Ohio, Estell (Charles) Bowers of Nevada, Ohio, and Wanda (Henry) Stout of Vienna, West Virginia, and two sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Parsell of McCutchenville, Ohio, and Kathryn Parsell of Upper Sandusky.
Irma was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers, Vernon, Donald, Karl, James, and George Wesley who died in infancy, and one sister, Mary Martha Parsell,
Irma graduated from Marseilles High School in 1941. She was a homemaker and had worked at Westinghouse for 10 years.
For hobbies Irma enjoyed knitting, crocheting, feeding and watching birds and squirrels, watching soap operas, game shows, Dancing with the Stars, and American Idol.
Funeral Services for Irma A. Arnold will be held on 11:00am on Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Mary Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, April 25 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
